When the Romanian telco RCD RDS decided to launch a 24hr HD news channel, they wanted it to set the standard and lead the way in modern, impartial news broadcasting. Aware of our unrivalled experience in branding news channels, and having worked with us previously on the launch of their sports channels, we were the natural partner to help launch this challenger brand.
We named the channel and created the identity, using the colour purple which gives it real stand out from its competitors. The overall look is fresh, slick and contemporary. We partnered with renowned set designer, Trond Olav, to design and produce sets for the news broadcasts, the breakfast show and flagship topical news programme, Jurnalul De Noapte.
The comprehensive on air package we produced included idents and 16 programme titles as well as a clean, uncluttered system for presenting information on screen that works across all platforms from TV to web and mobile.
We went on to develop the launch campaign for channel, driving awareness amongst the press and public. The channel has rapidly gained market share in Romania and has changed the face of news broadcasting in Eastern Europe forever.
